What is the top or best software to get for Antivirus and also what is the top antispyware software. I don't want that free junk, I am ready to spend top dollar on something but I need something that is extremely effective. Any ideas? thankx

there is a norton anti virus protection software out there or there is a AVG Technologies software.
AVG is what I use. I used the free version for a year, then bought the full version (nice, because it can scan certain areas instead of the entire computer).

As for antispyware, Windows Defender is a free download from the Microsoft website, and seems to work quite well.

I must say, though, the best medicine is prevention. Use safe internet practices, such as only downloading stuff from trustworthy sites, don't open email attachments from senders you don't know, and never, ever download porn.
You'll hear people say Symantec, it's good just a resource hog. I have always used Zone Alarm. It has outstanding anti virus and spyware protection. It has tons of other features. Check it out.
I love ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite. I've never ONCE seen any effects from an infection, and it always was very informative on what and what to do about any viruses, spyware, or firewall issues.
