For a apple mac powerbook g4 laptop?

do you really need any kind of spyware/adware or antivirus programs? if so is there a way to get one compatible for free?

For a apple mac powerbook g4 laptop?nortonantivirus

For years, Apples have been almost virus and spyware free because they had such a small share of the market. It just wasn't as much "fun" to mess up a few dozen computers when you could mess up millions of computers running Windows. But now Apples are occupying more of the market and slowly but surely viruses and spyware are appearing. Do you need such "anti" programs? It depends on your personal computer habits. If you never go to questionable sites, if you never open unknown email attachments, if you are 100% sure that nobody else who has access to your computer can be trusted 100% of the time, then you probably don't need these programs. But it might not hurt to check them out now, before you need one.

Just as an example, here's some antivirus programs from Majorgeeks:

You could look through these sites for additional antivirus and antispyware programs compatible with a Mac OS. Some are free, some might be trial versions or shareware, and some might be full price. You could also search for previously answered questions on Y!A and find out what other Mac users recommend. Hope this helps.
