Is it possible to install softwares on drive D?

my laptop [eeepc] has a very low disk space.. and i need to install an antivirus.. but the problem is, my drive c has only 400mb of free space.. but my drive d is expandable, it can mount up to any gigabyte imaginable [according to sd card memory].. so, can i save the installer package along with back up data on drive D?

You can do that by specifying D:\ drive at the time of installation.

However, anti-virus must be installed in c:\. You install other softwares in d:

You can install on the D drive, however a good portion (depending upon the application) will also install on the C drive (where the Registry etc are located).
You can install software on drive D. Some components may be installed on the C drive as your operating system drive but the majority will be installed on D.

How permanent the installation on D is depends on what kind of device you put there.

Get Dismapper to get a visual view of your C drive and remove junk to free up space.
I don't think so. How would you install and run it from the D drive. To be sure I would check with your computer manufacturer. D drive is usally just used for Recovery and backup.
my pc hard disk is partitioned into three drives, and i had not troubles installing software in drive D or drive E.
